ITHACA, NEW YORK WEDDING
Anna & Thomas’s wedding at the John Joseph Inn located near Ithaca, New York was everything they envisioned their day being beforehand, an “intimate vibe, with a beautiful, natural outdoor setting.” Anna used garden parties and the summer solstice as her main inspiration for the day and the venue was chosen based on their love of the area after studying at Cornell years ago. They wanted to make sure the setting and florals let the, “natural beauty of the Finger Lakes region shine through” so the wildflowers foraged by florist Alex Abuza fit perfectly.
From our beginning conversations I loved how laid back they were and excited to focus on spending time with their friends and family above all on their day. Anna & Thomas are both doctors/archeologists and, “had to include some nods to our careers such as the guest book which was an old National Geographic Book, and the cake toppers were two miniature archaeological replica ceramics Anna bought from the markets of Peru.”
Their love for one another was wonderful to witness. When I asked them what they love about one another Anna said, “I love Tom’s curiosity about the world, his willingness to slow down and enjoy the small things in life, and his comfort in being his genuine self. I love that every day we challenge one another to be better versions of ourselves.”
Tom said he, “Loves Anna’s intelligence and her passion about whatever she does. She’s incredibly kind, my favorite person to talk to, and the best travel companion. I don’t have a specific moment I knew she was the one, but over the years it became clear there was no version of me that was complete without her.”
